The FINANCIAL — In the latest Reuters/Ipsos Core Political, a quarter of Americans now say healthcare is the most important problem facing the US today (25%).
A quarter of Americans now say healthcare is the most important problem facing the US today (25%). This is the highest number of people to prioritize healthcare since the beginning of our poll. Distantly following healthcare are terrorism (14%) and the economy (13%). Donald Trump’s approval on healthcare reform grew slightly in the last week, up 2 percentage points to 37%.
President Trump’s overall approval is now 38%, 3 percentage points higher than last week. Compared to last week, he is also slightly stronger on the US economy (46%), employment and jobs (48%) and dealing with ISIS/ISIL (50%). Notably, although President Trump sent some pointed tweets last week, his approval on the way he treats people like me remains unchanged at 35%. Congress continues to be even more disliked than the president, with only 25% approving of Congress as a whole. However, 47% approve of the way their Congressperson is handling their job as Representative, up 5 percentage points from last week.
