Giorgi Cherkezishvili at E-Partnership Conference in Tallinn

The FINANCIAL — The conference dedicated to electronic partnership was held within the framework of the of European Union Council of the Republic of Estonia in Tallinn.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Giorgi Cherkezishvili addressed the participants of the Conference. Issues related to the information and communication technologies, including the cyber security and e-governance development in Eastern Partnership countries were discussed at the conference.

Giorgi Cherkezishvili talked about the achievements of Georgia in the field of information and communication technologies, as well as the risks of the cyber security along with the rapid growth of the information and communication technologies via modern technologies, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

According to Cherkezishvili, the Government of Georgia finds the issues related to the cyber security of outmost importance and has implemented numerous measures for its implementation. It is important that the ITU Global Cybersecurity Index 2017 ranked Georgia with 8th position. The Deputy Minister also focused on the measures for the development of electronic government services by the Government that allowed the implementation of the e-services for providing the citizens with the simplified and more comfortable services.

Giorgi Cherkezishvili stated that the project aims to promote the harmonization of the markets between the EU Eastern Partnership countries and the second working meeting (EU4Digital: Trust & Security) will be held in Tbilisi on 2-3 November, 2017.
