The FINANCIAL – According to RIA Novosti, the Georgian opposition intends to demand that the national state of emergency declared last week be lifted, during the second round of talks with parliament's speaker.

President Mikheil Saakashvili declared a state of emergency on November 7 following six days of mass street protests in Tbilisi, which were broken up by riot police.

Mamuka Katsitadze, a member of the Right Opposition faction, said "the cancellation of the state of emergency and restrictions for television" topped the list of demands the opposition would discuss with Nino Burdzhanadze.
