The FINANCIAL — The new forecast, announced on Wednesday, is lower than the 4 percent growth that was envisaged in next year’s budget by the Treasury Ministry.
Rostowski told broadcaster TVP Info that the Polish government is planning to make its final call on next year’s budget in December, adding that “we are now in a situation of an enormous uncertainty and that’s why we have decided to prepare three different economic growth budget assumptions for next year.”
The Finance Minister continued by saying that “one is a scenario of a moderate slowdown with growth forecast of 3.2 percent, instead of 4 percent. The second option is of some slowdown that is 2.5 percent and the third variant [foresees] recession, that is a GDP contraction of 1 percent”.
